The Applause Tenor ukulele, an acoustic electric, utilizes the round back design of the Ovation guitars.  The body is made from a composite material called lyrachord which is very durable and light weight.  This ukulele has a spruce top and a mahogany neck with a rosewood fret board. Its electronics provide a wide range of EQ adjustment. This ukulele works best when it is amplified through its built in pick-up. This is one of the best ukuleles out there in this price range, so if you’re looking for an inexpensive tenor, this is the one.

For a studio recording instrument, however, the Applause Tenor ukulele is not our first pick. It’s not microphone friendly, has a thin sound and lacks low frequencies.

Overall, for an ukulele in this price range, the Applause Tenor performs very well, is recommended for live performances rather than studio work, and looks really cool.
